Touring productions present unique technical challenges. Each prop needed to be:

• Lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, even in tight backstage areas.

• Structurally stable and safe, without compromising on decorative design.

• Identical in appearance, allowing for consistent visual presentation across multiple shows.

The harps also had to be self-supporting, movable on casters and counterbalanced for stability during on-stage use, allowing performers and crew to reposition them quickly between scenes.

Seedbed Studio began by curating detailed design drawings and reference material, capturing the ornate look the client wanted while ensuring the design could be manufactured efficiently.

A full- scale prototype was then developed and presented to the client for review. This prototype served two key purposes:

• To validate the design, balance and movement of the harp on stage.
  

• To establish production templates that would ensure accuracy and uniformity across all 15 final builds.

Once approved, we began batch production using precision templates and lightweight materials. Each harp was built on a caster-mounted base with counterweight balancing, providing smooth handling and reliable stability during performances.
